Coming out of CAL Restaurant, Joe's sharp gaze immediately pierced towards a black car parked at the street corner. He subtly exchanged a look with his bodyguard, who immediately understood and left.
Charlotte, noticing the bodyguard leaving, frowned and asked, "What's going on?"
Joe took her hand, "It's nothing, let's get in the car."
Just as the car door opened, a scream came from the street corner.
Charlotte looked over and saw the bodyguard pulling a man out of the black car parked there. The man seemed to be crying for help, but unfortunately, this was CAL Restaurant's turf, and when they realized it was Joe's bodyguard, they immediately backed off.
Finally, the bodyguard dragged the man away, disappearing around the corner.
"That car has been secretly following us since we left the villa, until just now," Joe said, a glint of fierceness flashing in his eyes, but he didn't show it in front of Charlotte.
Back at the villa, Sir Smith came out to greet them with two little kids, "How did it go?"
Looking at the hopeful eyes of the old man and the two young ones, Charlotte felt warmth flood her heart. Joe took Charlotte's hand and told them what Dorothy had said.
Sir Smith breathed a sigh of relief.
His heart had been lifted ever since Charlotte was taken away, and now that she was back, he was not expecting her to lose her memory.
In his eyes, Joe and Charlotte had come a long way to be where they are today and should not face such hardships again.
Now that they finally saw a glimmer of hope, it was indeed good news.
Joe nodded, "Don't let this get out."
He hasn't forgotten that there's still Smollett to deal with.
After listening to Dorothy today, Joe understood why Smollett took the risk to appear beside Charlotte.
