Joey had lived a fair bit of his life, but he'd never seen anything like this before. His face went white as a sheet in an instant.
"What the heck...?"
What was going on here?
He remembered the call from his buddy. His friend had told him to hightail it out of there, warning him that the Enforcement Division was on their way to wipe out his whole family. He hadn't taken it seriously, but now...
They weren't kidding around!
Joey was on the verge of tears, his mind racing through everything he'd done recently, right down to that time he and his friend played poker and he landed a straight flush. But surely that wasn't enough to get the Enforcement Division on his case with a convoy of cars, was it?
The butler, busy cleaning the tractor, was just as spooked, almost toppling off the thing.
"Mas... Master!"
"Master? What are you talking about? I'm not a horse!" Joey snapped, giving him a sharp look. As they both stood there, nerves jangling, a parade of cars rolled up and parked neatly in front of the Gilbert family home.
The door of the lead car swung open, and a man got out, his expression all business.
"Jonathan." Joey rushed over, looking like he was about to cry. "What’s all this about...?"
"Enough talk." Jonathan was eager to finish the task Flora had given him so he could get back and brag about his success. "Joey, just pick one."
Pick... one? Pick what?
Joey felt his knees go weak. "A way to die?"
Jonathan: "Huh?"
What car brand was that? He wasn't sure he even recognized it.
"Jonathan, our Gilbert family has always played it straight and narrow. There's no need for this big show..." Joey managed to say, forcing a bit of courage into his voice. "Unless my wayward daughter and nephew stirred up some trouble during the elite training? If so, just punish them. A good talking-to will set them straight!"
"What nonsense."
