Liam's face was still swathed in thick, blood-stained bandages—a sight that was downright chilling. Ever since Aisha discovered Liam Peyton's existence, she had been keeping a close eye on them. She knew Henrik had shown up and beat the tar out of Liam, and was also aware of Henrik's plan to ship Liam Peyton off abroad. So, she went ahead and pulled off a secret rescue.
"Ms. Aisha, you're here," someone greeted.
Liam had been left with a lasting fear of Henrik. Every time he closed his eyes, he envisioned Henrik perched on a sofa, gazing down at him with a cold, detached look as he took a beating—a memory that rattled his very bones. Hearing the door open, he broke into a cold sweat, but breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it was Aisha.
"Yeah," Aisha replied, sliding off her sunglasses and settling onto the sofa.
"Ms. Aisha, is there something you need?" Peyton asked, noticing her less-than-pleased expression. He rubbed his hands together, sounding both eager to please and a bit desperate: "If you need anything, just let me know."
"There is," Aisha replied, looking them square in the eye. "It's Henrik and Cecelia's fault you're now living like fugitives. Don't you hate them?"
"I wish they were dead!" Liam spat out. The mere mention of 'Henrik' sent an involuntary shiver down his spine. But then he realized Henrik wasn't there, and fury took over. "Damn it, if I get the chance, I'll make sure that lousy couple pays!"
He fantasized about stabbing Henrik over and over, then dealing with Cecelia in the most brutal way possible! Make her scream and plead!
Aisha was quite satisfied with his reaction. "Now's your chance," she said with a cool confidence.
Liam's eyes, clouded with confusion, locked onto Aisha’s face. "What do you mean?"
"Cecelia, the big-shot actress, dumped her foster parents and even had them beaten up—" Aisha began to laugh, unable to hold it back, "that's bound to make headlines, right?"
Enough to ruin Cecelia.
In the world of celebrities, scandals are a one-way ticket to obscurity. Aisha herself had been on the brink, so she knew the stakes. Cecelia's offenses were far worse.
