"Alright, folks, let's go and share the good news with Ms. Flora!"
...
The noise was so loud that Jules couldn't help but notice it too.
On high alert, the special forces quickly aimed their guns at the rustling bushes nearby.
Just as they were about to pull the trigger, Flora intervened, "Hold your fire, they're on our side."
Wait, what?
The soldiers hesitated, briefly confused.
On our side?
Moss and Beck emerged from the bushes, dragging captives with them. "Ms. Flora, we've rounded them all up," Moss announced with a cheeky grin.
Flora gave a nod, her voice calm and collected, "Well done."
Beck beamed with pride, practically glowing from the praise.
"Ms. Flora, we've got Kruiz out safely. He's just a bit banged up, nothing serious. We've already sent him to the hospital."
Flora nodded again and turned to the soldiers, "Let your captain know it's time to regroup."
The soldiers were still processing everything when they instinctively nodded and reached for their phones. However, before they could make the call, their captain, Colin, beat them to it.
"Flora, I've got some bad news," Colin's voice was tense. "It seems there was another group involved with Kruiz. By the time we arrived, someone else had already made the rescue."
With the call on speakerphone, everyone heard him.
All eyes turned to Flora.
With a composed expression, Flora closed her laptop and handed it over to Jules.
"Hello?"
