Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1128

Kaylee had just walked out of the hospital, her face still pale and an air of defeat clinging to her—so different from her usual confident self.

"Ms. Kaylee."

Her voice was raspy too. Jenna remembered hearing about Kaylee's recent mishap with a manure pit and instinctively took a step back. “Need something from me?”

“Just passing by and thought I’d say hi,” Kaylee replied with a weak smile, her eyes drifting to Selene, who was busy practicing her aim. “You know, that Selene used to be part of a medical organization. My mentor poured his heart into training her, but she ended up betraying them, teamed up with Flora, and caused a big mess for the organization.”

Jenna's eyebrows knitted together tightly. So, Selene was that kind of person—a traitor. Definitely not someone to be trusted.

Kaylee studied Jenna’s reaction and chuckled lightly. “Ms. Kaylee, just a friendly piece of advice: steer clear of Flora and Selene. They’re bad news, always scheming. Someone as kind-hearted as you won’t stand a chance. Look what happened to me.”

“Are you saying Flora did this to you?”

Kaylee gave a bitter smile and stayed silent, which Jenna took as a yes.

In an instant, Jenna’s anger flared, boiling over. That Flora! So devious! And Selene, a backstabbing rogue. If she didn’t settle the score, she wouldn’t be Jenna!

...

Flora stepped out of the lab as dusk began to settle in. As she walked past some bushes, the metallic scent of blood wafted through the air. Her senses sharpened.
