Luiz, looking uneasy, swallowed hard and said, “Flora’s not up there, and honestly, you can’t put the blame squarely on her. Jenna went after Selene first, so Flora just reacted in the heat of the moment.”

Ethan frowned, confused by Luiz’s words. Of course, Flora wasn’t at fault. If anything, he thought she’d been too soft.

“These people can’t go up,” Luiz’s voice was urgent, “We’re from Austenberg, and we’re often overlooked at the medical base, but if they go up, they’ll hurt Selene and Flora. As the director, shouldn’t you do something?”

Mike was at a loss for words, about to explain when a commanding, elderly voice cut through the air.

A group of people marched over, led by Kruiz. Still in his sterile gear and mask, he had rushed over as soon as he heard Flora was in trouble.
