Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1152

They still had no clue about what went down with Flora at the base, and that was just how Connor wanted it. He’d asked Beck to keep things under wraps since everything had been sorted out, and there was no reason to stir up worry or anger again.

"Let's just put everything else on hold and dig into dinner first!" Karter chimed in with enthusiasm.

"After such a long flight, you must be wiped out. Come in and take a load off," Amanda greeted them with a bright, welcoming smile.

Ethan, always thoughtful, handed them each a warm cup of water and guided them to their seats.

"Connor, did you bring Dad and my brother over?" Flora’s eyes sparkled with happiness. She hadn't been away for long, but she was already feeling a deep pang of homesickness.

Connor pulled her close, his voice a gentle whisper, "In just two days, it's my Flora's 20th birthday. Such an important day should be shared with everyone."

Flora beamed, and when no one was looking, she snuck a quick kiss on his cheek.

...

While this side of the world was all cozy and warm, Kylie was having a rough time.

She’d been shipped back to the medical organization overnight, only to find herself stuck outside, unable to get in.

"Kylie, the director has made it clear—you've been kicked out of the medical organization."

Kylie had known her comeback wouldn’t be a walk in the park, but she hadn’t expected to be completely shut out.

They were being downright ruthless!

She’d given her all to this organization for years!

"I need to see the director!"

"The director is busy and can't see you now. It's best you leave, or we might have to use force," Mr. Atticus said with a smile that didn’t match his firm tone.

"I can wait! I’ll hang around here until the director has a moment!"

Kylie was out of options. With her name on the blacklist of major families and labs, and both the Falcone and Reyes families having blackballed her, if the medical organization turned her away too, she’d have nowhere left to go.
