Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1225

It was the same guy who'd bought some medicine from her earlier. Next to him, an older man lay sprawled out, looking in pretty bad shape. His body was shaking uncontrollably, his face was a scary shade of purple, and he was gasping for air. Without help, he was on the brink of suffocating.

"Connor," Flora said, giving Connor a tap on the shoulder. He instinctively set her down.

"Boss! Hang in there a bit longer!"

The guy was nearly losing it! They'd just been wandering around the black market when, out of nowhere, the boss had a relapse and fainted.

"If you keep shaking him like that, he's not gonna make it," came a calm voice from above. The guy looked up without thinking.

Flora was already crouched down, reaching for the older man's arm.

"What are you doing!" he shouted, swatting at Flora's hand. But before he could even make contact, Connor caught his arm.

Connor's gaze was icy, sending a shiver down the man's spine.

While this was happening, Flora had already checked the older man and was ready to give him a pill.

Seeing this, the man panicked, "What did you just try to give our boss?"

He didn't really trust Flora; she was a stranger, and he didn't dare let the boss take anything from her.

"A pill," Flora said, still keeping her cool.

A pill?

The guy hesitated, then quickly asked, "Are you a doctor? You're so young!"

"Who are you? What's your name?"

He bombarded her with questions. Flora, who was just trying to help out of kindness and because they had bought her medicine, was losing her patience with his fuss. She shot him a cold look. "Either let me help, or let him die. It's your call."

"I promise, without my help, he won't last two minutes."

The man was torn.
