Her hands were a bit chilly, sending a shiver up Connor's spine.

"Well, I'm only interested in you," Flora chuckled. "And just between us, none of the guys around here can hold a candle to your physique."

"So, you were checking me out?" Connor's face lit up with her first comment, but then his expression soured at the rest of her words.

Flora: "..."

Uh-oh!

"Really? I didn't notice, honestly."

Flora's eyes darted around, feeling flustered, not daring to meet Connor's gaze as she quietly slipped away. "I didn't see a thing, nope..."

Connor couldn't help but chuckle.

Flora wandered around the training field, eventually ending up at the shooting range. Just then, a team was training there. When their captain, Shadow, spotted Flora approaching, he went into high alert. "Ma'am, it's risky here, maybe check out another spot!" he quickly suggested.

They were using real firearms; if Flora got hurt, they'd be in serious trouble!

"Go ahead with your training, I'll just watch," Flora said.

Shadow wanted to point out that Flora's presence was a bit of a distraction but couldn't bring himself to say it. His face was a mix of hesitation and worry.

"Ma'am, you should really head out. Your skin's too delicate; if we mess up, there's no explaining that to the boss," the second team's captain chimed in, known for his bluntness: "And honestly, the training ground's not a playground. If you're looking for fun, there are plenty of spots for someone like you."

He'd never been fond of Flora. Although everyone felt the same, no one dared voice it, especially with Connor around!

"Rory!" Shadow panicked, fearing Connor's reaction. "Boss, please don't be mad, Rory just speaks his mind, ma'am, please don't take it personally."

"Go and take your punishment," Connor said coldly, his eyes devoid of warmth.

"Boss!" Shadow was on edge.

Rory pursed his lips, didn't plead for mercy, and went to accept his punishment.
