"Aunt Donna, haven't you been feeling under the weather lately? I'm free today, so I thought I'd swing by and see how you're doing," Tara's voice came through the phone, gentle and soothing.
Chelsea felt a tad awkward and cleared her throat before replying, "Tara, I really appreciate it, but I've already found someone else to help me out, and she's quite the whiz!"
On the other end, Tara had just left the pharmacy, her eyebrows knitting in surprise.
Someone else besides her could treat Chelsea? And Chelsea seemed really impressed with this person. A girl as talented as she was?
Tara lowered her gaze, masking her expression, and asked with a smile, "Who's this miracle worker you’ve found?"
"Her name's Flora! She's fantastic!"
Chelsea couldn't help but get excited talking about Flora: "She's amazing—not only can she treat illnesses and whip up fragrances, but she can also create dietary recipes!"
Flora?! Tara frowned. Wasn't this the same woman her mentor had praised?
She felt a twinge of irritation. Everyone used to sing her praises, but now it was all about Flora, and she wasn't loving that.
"Well, Chelsea, I hope you get better soon. I've heard whispers about Flora. She's new in our medical circles, so just be a little careful," Tara advised.
Chelsea laughed warmly, "No need to worry, not at all!"
"Don't underestimate Flora just because she's a newcomer. She's really something special! Honestly, Tara, I think there's a lot you could learn from her!"
Tara's face darkened. Learn from Flora? Learn what, exactly? She was the cherished daughter of the Roth family, and Flora was just a newcomer, an orphan at that. Was she really worth learning from?
