She didn't bother arguing with Flora. Instead, she looked at Connor with eyes brimming with unshed tears, her voice edged with hurt. "Connor, I swear, I didn’t..."
"Shut up!"
Connor's demeanor turned icy, like a frigid wind that seemed to freeze the very air. The people around felt a heavy tension settle over them, making it hard to breathe.
"Are you deaf?" His voice sliced through the room like a knife, causing Rory to flinch in alarm.
"The lady told you to throw them out. Didn’t you hear?"
"I heard, I heard..." Rory, sweating and terrified, quickly barked, "Get Sydney and Kenneth out of here, now."
"But not just them," Connor added.
Rory tensed, and then Connor's voice cut through again, "Her too."
Following Connor’s steely gaze, Rory saw Tara.
"Get her out too. She’s an eyesore, absolutely revolting."
His voice was as cold as a winter's chill, piercing Tara's heart like a dagger. She shook with the pain of it.
Connor called her an eyesore, revolting? After all these years of loving him, this is how he repaid her!
How could he be so heartless?
The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. No one dared to breathe too loudly.
On one side was the cherished daughter of the Roth family, and on the other, the most powerful figure in the Martial World. Neither was someone you wanted to cross.
Rory didn’t have time to worry about Tara’s status. The boss was furious, and they needed to move fast!
"Miss Tara, I’m sorry for this!"
He grabbed her by the collar, hoisted her up, and tossed her out.
Sydney and Kenneth followed, thrown out with equal force.
The sound of their bodies hitting the ground echoed loudly, leaving them in utter disgrace.
