Connor and Flora headed back to their room after a hearty dinner, and only then did Connor quietly slip away. He made his way back to the Enforcement Division and called in Shadow.

"Boss, what's up?" Shadow asked, looking all serious.

"I need you to dig up everything you can on someone named Tara," Connor replied. "I want every detail."

Recently, Connor had been helping Flora dig into her past. In the Martial World, there were loads of influential families with the surname Mo. When he first met Flora, he was in a tight spot himself, and she hadn't even shared her real name. But the fact that Flora could waltz in and out of the dungeon to chat with him meant her family was something special.

He'd narrowed it down to a few families, with the Roth family raising the most eyebrows. Tara had vanished and then turned up again, which struck him as fishy. Seeing her today only made him more suspicious, so he wanted Shadow to look into it.

Lost in his thoughts, Connor didn't notice Shadow throwing him increasingly strange glances. Shadow had assumed that getting called in late at night meant there was some huge announcement coming, only to find out it was about investigating Tara.

Shadow's face was a picture of disbelief. Why was the boss suddenly interested in Tara? He'd just tossed her out earlier that day with zero emotion. Could it be that Connor was putting on a show for everyone, but secretly had a thing for Tara? Otherwise, why the sudden curiosity?

"You deaf or something?" Connor asked, his voice tinged with impatience when Shadow didn't respond right away.

"No, no... not deaf!" Shadow quickly replied, "Yes, boss, I'll get right on it." But he didn't budge.

Connor glanced up, his icy stare piercing through Shadow. Shadow shivered but pushed through the nerves to say, "Boss, even if you get mad, I gotta say this... We can't pull a stunt like those sleazy guys do! You've already got Ms. Flora, so why chase after Ms. Tara? Are you trying to juggle both? Boss, if that's what you're thinking, it's a real letdown!"
