"Hey Flora, you like food too?" At this, Corbyn gave Flora a glance. "Want to join us for a bite? I've got plenty."
Flora's eyes drifted to the picnic basket, but before she could say anything, Tara tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and chuckled, "Uncle, did you forget about my dad's temper? He doesn't really like sharing his cooking with outsiders."
That reminder hit Corbyn like a ton of bricks. Sammuel was known for being a bit of a hard-nosed guy, only breaking out the pots and pans on special occasions, mostly for Tara. If he found out someone else was tasting his cooking, he'd probably blow a gasket.
Flora smirked, "Did I ever say I wanted any?" Her comment was a bit over the top.
"Ahem, Flora, maybe next time I'll bring you some treats," Corbyn said, a hint of embarrassment crossing his handsome face as his eyes twinkled with a mischievous charm, prettier than most women's.
"No need."
"Ms. Flora!" Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted.
A man hurried over, none other than the Gilbert family butler. He walked in with purpose, giving Corbyn a respectful nod, "Corbyn," before turning to Flora. "Ms. Flora, I'm here to drop off some food. The lady was worried you might not be eating well at the Medical Hall, so she had the kitchen whip up something special for you."
Flora wasn't usually picky, except when it came to food, so Mae had made sure to have something nice prepared for her. Flora smiled, ready to take the food, when a sudden hubbub outside caught everyone's attention.
Jonathan was leading a group of folks in uniform, striding towards the Medical Hall. The disciples quickly bowed in acknowledgment. "Greetings, Jonathan!"
