"Uncle, what's going on?" Tara asked softly, noticing he seemed exhausted.

"It's nothing," Samuel shook his head, paused, and then continued, "Tara, I went to talk to Flora for you. She's not the person you described. Seems like there's been a misunderstanding between you two. You're both around the same age; you should try to be friends."

Just as she feared, Uncle John had fallen under Flora's spell!

Tara felt her heart burning with frustration, but she kept a smile plastered on her face: "Uncle, I was just too worked up earlier. Once I calmed down, I realized Flora isn't like that. I was just worried you might be harsh. I'm relieved you weren't. I knew you'd understand me."

Hearing this, Samuel felt a bit reassured. He did like Flora, as she reminded him of his younger sister, but he had also cared for Tara for years. It would be ideal if they could be friends.

Not in the mood to talk further, Samuel headed to his room.
