In the room, Connor's deep, tender voice floated like a soothing melody, reminiscent of a cello's most enchanting notes, full of lingering passion. Everyone was visibly moved.
As the song drew to a close, Flora's eyes were misty with emotion. Connor, down on one knee before her, finished his serenade, stood up, leaned forward, and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead—so tender, it almost didn't seem real.
"Thank you, Flora," he said.
He was thanking his Flora for agreeing to be his wife.
"Connor..." Flora's voice quivered with emotion. "I love you."
Even Crimson, usually the life of the party, found herself tearing up and thinking about marriage for the first time!
Trying to lighten the mood, Crimson chimed in, "Alright, alright, that's enough mushy stuff for now. Groom, it's time to find those bridal shoes so you can whisk the bride away!"
Just as she finished, Flora calmly lifted a corner of her dress. Connor's eyes widened in panic—there were other guys in the room! He quickly stepped in front of her, casting a warning glare at Ray, Rafael, and the others.
They awkwardly looked away, pretending to be oblivious: "What's the big deal? She just lifted a corner; it's not like they could see anything!"
"Connor, here you go."
Tradition dictated that the groom should find the bridal shoes, but seeing how the earlier events had tugged at her heartstrings, Flora decided to spare him the effort and handed them over, ignoring Crimson's protesting eyes.
Connor's lips curled into a subtle smile. Kneeling down once more, he reverently slipped the shoes onto her feet, completing this charming ritual.
As they prepared to leave, Henrik scooped Flora up and carried her out.
