Louise let out a sharp scream, "This can't be real!"
"Mr. Adam, why would you go so far as to make a recording to tarnish my name?" Louise pleaded, her voice thick with tears, as if she were the victim of a great injustice. "Just because you see Fiona as your sister, does that give you the right to ruin a girl's reputation like this?"
"What does a recording prove anyway? You could just find someone to say those words and think that would be enough to bring me down?"
Her eyes, red and swollen from tears, glared at Adam, a mix of anger and desperation.
The crowd exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of whom to believe, leaving the room in an awkward silence.
Nash leaned against the doorframe, his gaze icy and unyielding.
Fiona sat calmly in her chair, arms crossed, watching Louise with a look of amusement and mockery, as if she were watching a circus act.
Adam chuckled, "Sis, why won't you give up until you've dug your own grave, making me the bad guy?"
Why insist on making a spectacle of yourself?
No matter what she did, the outcome wouldn't be in her favor.
"Alright, sis, if that's what you want."
Adam said, holding his phone in one hand and tapping the screen a few times. Louise, trying to calm the storm inside her, couldn't help but glance over.
But she saw nothing.
The screen was privacy-protected; all she could see was a blur of black.
Louise bit her lip so hard it turned white.
Adam noticed her reaction and laughed softly, turning the phone screen towards her.
"Take a good look."
