Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1445

Fiona gave him a doubtful look, "Are you sure that's what she meant, bro?"

She had a knack for reading people, and that female doctor had issues written all over her. She’d never see her own faults and would always pin the blame on others.

She was probably badmouthing Fiona just a moment ago.

Jackson chuckled, pausing at a red light. He glanced at Fiona with a touch of humor in his eyes, "Would your brother lie to you?"

Totally possible, Fiona mused silently.

"Enough about other people," Jackson said as the light turned green. He started driving again, casually asking, "What do you fancy for lunch?"

"How about some Thai food?" Fiona suggested after a moment’s thought.

"Sounds good."

Jackson nodded and drove them to the best Thai spot nearby.

...

Meanwhile, at the hospital.

The female doctor was still buzzing from the memory of Jackson’s charming smile and their conversation. Her heart was racing.

In her twenty-something years, he was the most impressive and handsome man she’d ever laid eyes on.

Even without exchanging numbers, Jackson knew where she worked. She was convinced he’d come looking for her. She had to keep herself looking perfect at all times.

"Dr. Wegge, you're in quite the good mood, huh? I have to admire your positivity," the male doctor across the table chuckled. "I heard the dean’s about to hit you with disciplinary action. Aren’t you worried at all? For us in the medical field, a clean record is everything. If this goes on your record, how will you work anywhere else?"

His tone dripped with amusement.

The female doctor wasn’t exactly popular in the office, and the other doctors couldn’t hold back their laughter either.

Everyone knew she was getting disciplined for taking credit for someone else’s work and getting caught red-handed.

She totally had it coming.

Her face clouded over, and any trace of good mood disappeared in an instant.

Who were they to laugh at her?
