Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1447

After dinner, Jackson offered Fiona a lift back home. When they got to the apartment, Mikey was lounging in a chair by the door, looking completely relaxed and unaware of their arrival.

"Yeah, yeah, just chuck it in the car; there's still space in the trunk for more."

He had his sunglasses on, reclining comfortably, not even noticing Fiona's approach.

Fiona frowned, glanced into the apartment where Tyler was busily moving things, and then back at Mikey. She gave him a playful kick, "I told you to help with the move, not to sit around like you're on vacation."

Mikey, caught off guard by the kick, nearly toppled over with the chair. Just as he was about to complain, he heard Fiona's voice and quickly put on a grin, chuckling, "Hey, hey, boss! You're back. I was just, you know, letting Tyler get some practice in independence."

"Oh, really?"

Fiona looked at him with no expression, "So this is your version of teaching independence? Fine, let's see how you handle some 'independence' yourself one day."

Mikey's smile dropped immediately as Tyler emerged, arms full of bags and boxes. Mikey rushed over to help.

"No worries, I got it," Tyler insisted, shaking his head.

"No, no, you shouldn't!"

"I can manage."

"If I say you can't, then you can't!" Mikey grabbed the bags from him and zipped over to the car.

"Ms. Fiona."

Tyler greeted Fiona with a polite nod and bow, very courteous.

Fiona felt a headache coming on, "Is everything moved?"

"Pretty much," Tyler replied.

"Alright," Fiona nodded, "If you need anything, just ask Mikey. If it's something major, you can come to me. You'll start at Westbrook High School tomorrow."

"Fiona, want some water?"

While Fiona was giving Tyler instructions, Jackson suddenly handed her an open bottle of water.
