"Cough."
Henrik, feeling a bit awkward himself, cleared his throat softly. Meanwhile, his phone kept ringing with the unmistakable ringtone announcing, "Call from your wife, call from your wife—"
Fiona, looking like she had seen this all before, was ready for the inevitable bit of embarrassment. She was used to it.
"Uncle, you should pick up, you—"
Before Fiona could finish, Henrik eagerly hit the answer button. Worried Fiona might overhear, he thought about using earphones but realized in his hurry he had left them behind.
"Hey, honey—"
A voice full of complaint came from the other end.
"What’s up?"
Henrik's voice automatically softened.
"I'm freezing over here," Cecelia's voice sounded muffled. "It's terrible, the heating just cut out, and now it's like an icebox in here."
"Didn't I tell you not to sign up for that show?"
Henrik tried to keep his concern in check, his tone still firm. The show was being filmed in some small towns where the facilities weren't as good as in the city. Cecelia had insisted on going, and now she was paying the price.
"You did say that..."
Cecelia's voice was still muffled, "But I'm really cold."
She came from a tough background and had faced many challenges growing up. Now that she had the means, she wanted to help kids in need. Joining this show was her way of supporting children in remote areas.
Henrik's heart melted instantly.
"Send me your location, and I'll have someone bring you some supplies."
Cecelia quickly rattled off an address.
Henrik looked up the area and said, "Hang tight, in twenty minutes, someone will drop by with what you need."
