As Nash listened, his face got darker by the second, the veins on his forehead practically popping out. Yet, the others kept chatting, oblivious to his rising anger.
"Shut up, all of you! What are you, a bunch of gossiping women?" Nash shouted, his patience snapping. He kicked the table leg, sending it skidding forward with a loud crash. Instantly, the chatter in Room 19 died away, leaving an echoing silence.
Everyone turned to look at Nash, who was fuming, and no one dared to make a sound. Slinging his backpack over his shoulder, Nash stormed out, his face still contorted with anger. As he reached the door, he gave it a solid kick for good measure.
The students exchanged puzzled looks. What on earth had ticked Nash off so suddenly?
"I didn’t even say anything that bad..." The boy who had been talking scratched his head, baffled. He had just shared a bit of gossip. Why was Nash so mad?
"You don’t get it, do you? It’s obvious—Nash is jealous!" his friend said with a knowing grin. "Have you ever seen Flora give Nash any attention? Now she's being all nice to the new kid; of course, Nash is upset. It makes total sense."
"What? You think Nash has a thing for Flora? So it's a love square... And isn’t Nash’s uncle, Jackson, also interested in Flora? Wow, an uncle and nephew fighting over the same woman—now that's juicy!"
...
Fiona and Tyler had just stepped out of the school gates when they spotted Jackson leaning against his car. Dressed in a black shirt and matching pants, he looked effortlessly cool with one button undone, teasing a glimpse of his chiseled collarbone. He practically oozed charm.
Fiona raised an eyebrow, barely resisting the urge to whistle. He was quite the sight. But she kept her composure, her usual sweet demeanor intact, and smiled, revealing a cute little tooth. "Hey, big brother."
Jackson straightened up, his gaze softening as he looked at her, the coldness in his eyes melting into warmth and affection. Tall and long-legged, he took a couple of strides towards Fiona, casually taking her backpack and slinging it over his shoulder.
