Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1490

"Dr. Fiona, we're thrilled to have you at the clinic today. Some of our other doctors are eager to pick your brain on a few medical matters," the director hurriedly explained.

But Fiona wasn't having any of it—lunchtime was her sacred time, and she wasn't going to miss it.

"Just leave him as he is for now. I'll be back to handle things and get him sorted. If you're feeling peckish, go grab a bite yourself," she said, swiftly tapping out a message on her phone. Shooting a glance at the director, she added, "We agreed I'd be here once a week, like clocking in and out. You can't take away my lunch break."

With that, Fiona zipped out the door, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

Left with no option, Christina stayed with Allen, and the director had to patiently explain the situation to the other doctors.

...

Once she stepped out of the hospital, Fiona made her way to a nearby Italian restaurant as planned. A server stopped her at the entrance.

"Are you Ms. Fiona?" the server asked with a polite smile. "Mr. Woods is already waiting for you in the private room. Let me show you the way."

"Thanks," Fiona replied, following the server.

Soon, she found herself in Jackson's private dining room. This time it was just the two of them, without Nash's haughty presence. Fiona closed the door behind her and playfully called out, "Hey, big brother~"

Jackson's face broke into a broad smile when he saw her. He gestured for her to come closer, his eyes twinkling with affection. "Come here."

"Look what I brought you," Fiona said, reaching into her pocket to reveal a small, beautifully colored pendant. Its jade-like quality shimmered under the light, adorned with an intricate design.

As she opened her palm with a bright smile, Jackson took the pendant and revealed an amber-colored one from his pocket, featuring a matching design.
