The director was more than happy to accommodate such a small request. If it meant bringing in Fiona, he'd not only offer a bigger office but even clear out his own if needed.
"Ms. Fiona, we've been eagerly waiting for you," an elderly doctor said with a warm smile, still dressed in his surgical scrubs and beaming at her.
"Absolutely, Ms. Fiona. We've got a bunch of questions we'd love to pick your brain about," chimed in a man in casual clothes, pushing his way to the front. Fiona almost mistook him for a patient.
"Sorry, Ms. Fiona. It's my day off, but when I heard you were coming to the hospital, I rushed over without even changing," he explained.
"Ms. Fiona, could you help me with my research project?" another voice called out.
Fiona was surrounded, but the doctors were considerate of her personal space, standing a respectful distance away, knowing she preferred it that way. Some even settled on the sofas, patient for their turn.
Meanwhile, Christina and the director found themselves squeezed in near Allen's bedside. If Allen weren't bedridden, the line would have stretched even further.
Christina was seeing Fiona's popularity firsthand for the first time. It was unusual for someone so young, still in high school, to be held in such high regard.
"Director, what's her status that makes all these doctors flock to her?" Christina was baffled.
