Fiona reached down and felt something wet beneath her, immediately thinking her period had come early. But the sensation was off. She slipped her phone back into her pocket and stood up quickly, only to find her bed was drenched, as if someone had poured water all over it.
With the night's chill, sleeping without a blanket would surely mean catching a cold. Just then, she heard muffled laughter behind her. Turning around, she saw her dorm mates peeking out, laughing without restraint.
Their faces were unmistakably smug and mocking.
“Haha, I can't hold it in anymore, this is too funny!” Patricia sat up, her face almost glowing with glee. Seeing Fiona in this spot made her day.
“Ha! Fiona, you totally had this coming!”
“Honestly, she looked like she wet herself. Did you see her just now, checking under her butt? That was hilarious!”
Their banter filled the room, completely disregarding Fiona's feelings.
“You poured the water,” Fiona stated, her voice calm and her eyes blank.
“Don't make stuff up. We were all just sleeping. Who would pour water on your bed?” Patricia scoffed.
Ever since things had escalated with Keaton, none of them had come out on top. They hadn’t seen Fiona get the punishment they wanted from Keaton. Instead, they were the ones who got an earful thanks to Jackson.
Naturally, they weren’t about to own up now.
“Are you saying I went to the bathroom, fetched water, and soaked my own bed?” Fiona laughed with a hint of sarcasm, her gaze icy. “Are you all that dense?”
“Fiona, who are you calling dense?!” Patricia jumped up, pointing at Fiona and hurling insults, “You think everyone is as trashy as you!”
