At this moment, a group of parents huddled together, whispering among themselves. When they spotted Fiona, their eyes practically shot daggers, filled with disdain. Fiona, unfazed, headed straight upstairs. Her room was right next to Nash's, so he quickly caught up with her, room key in hand.
"Looks like you're in for some drama," Nash smirked, though his voice carried a hint of worry. "If things get messy, I can call Jackson. Let's see what they have to say then."
"No need. They're just a bunch of busybodies. Not worth our energy."
"Fair enough."
When they came back down, all the parents and students were already waiting in the lobby, ready to pounce with their snide remarks.
"Quite the entrance! We’ve been waiting a whole ten minutes for you."
"Right? Oh, and you’ve changed clothes, too. So many thoughts for someone so young."
"Seems like the rumors were spot on, such a little flirt."
Fiona shot them a sideways glance, her gaze icy, and quickly joined the larger group. Though their words were sharp and unpleasant, she didn't let it bother her.
The school field trip was just a chance to explore local sights, soak in the rustic charm, and make some friends. After the briefing, some parents decided to take their kids out on their own, while others gathered, seemingly plotting how to give Fiona a hard time.
With tensions rising, Fiona and Nash decided to leave with Mr. Keaton, along with a few students whose parents weren’t around.
