Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1778

Fiona was already on edge, her face serious as she cautioned, "You really need to watch what you eat here."

Out of nowhere, Jackson had a lightbulb moment and grabbed her hand. "The mango cake!"

Fiona shook her head, smiling to calm him down. "It's all good; I checked it myself."

"Wow! I can’t believe Josie would sink so low! Poisoning people in plain sight—she's got some nerve!"

Fiona thought the situation over. Even if someone left here and something happened to them, it wouldn't easily trace back to Josie. She'd have covered all her tracks.

So, Fiona decided not to blow Josie's cover just yet. She wasn't entirely sure she could deal with the strange creatures in the water.

As the chatter in the room faded, Josie took center stage, microphone in hand, bathed in the spotlight. Her voice was soft but oddly convincing.

Fiona wasn't tuned into Josie's words; her eyes were glued to the odd red marks on Josie's wrist. They didn’t look like anything normal, and maybe it was just a trick of the light, but they seemed to be moving ever so slightly!

Josie kept up her lively talk until someone came up and whispered in her ear. Her expression shifted sharply, and she announced, "It seems someone’s used a fake invitation to get in. Please check your invites and belongings to make sure nothing’s gone missing."

Just as expected, it had started.

Shelly let out a knowing snort, "Knew she'd pull something like this, even though our invites don't match Fiona's."

Fiona had a hunch and turned to Tyler. "Let me see your invitation."

She examined Tyler's invite closely, comparing it to Shelly's. They were identical, no obvious flaws.
