Kaylee was having the best luck ever, getting Rafael to speak up for her.

Once Rafael decided to let it slide, the teacher had nothing more to say. "Mr. Darcy, let me take you to the foyer. The evening gala is about to start."

"Sure," Rafael nodded.

He had originally come backstage to talk to Flora about something important, but with so many people around, it wasn’t the right moment.

“Rafael is just incredible, treating everyone with such kindness, even people who barely matter.”

A senior student sneered jealously, seeing Kaylee standing there with flushed cheeks, and scoffed, “Hey, you’re not daydreaming about our Rafael, are you? Don’t get ahead of yourself. Rafael is nice to everyone; you’re not so full of yourself to think he likes you, are you?”

“Did you rinse your mouth with sewage? You talk so foul! Let’s go, Wendy. Ignore her,” Cynthia snapped, her chubby face puffing up in anger.

If she knew that Kaylee and Rafael were friends and had even had dinner together, she’d probably be scared to death!

“Don’t let what she said get to you, Wendy. She was clearly targeting you on purpose!” Cynthia comforted Kaylee outside.

“I’m fine. You guys go get ready; the gala is about to start,” Kaylee said softly. She really wasn’t angry; in fact, she felt a tiny bit happy.

The entire gala was being streamed live, and even before it started, the chat room was already packed with tens of millions of people, mostly there for Rafael.

“To Rafael’s fans, today is Maple Grove University’s welcome gala. Before Rafael’s turn, please keep your mics off and don’t flood the chat to preserve Rafael’s public image.”

Rafael’s fans took control of the comments.

At 7 PM, the gala officially began.
