Bowie couldn't help but get carried away when talking about dance. Realizing he might have gone on a bit too long, he cleared his throat and eagerly said, "Flora, if you have any requests or suggestions, just say the word. We can figure it out together."
Seeing that Flora was still silent, Bowie’s tone turned almost pleading: "Flora, after all I've said, you can't still be uninterested, can you?"
Flora finally looked up at Bowie.
Truth be told, fifty million wasn’t a big deal to her. She could make that kind of money with a snap of her fingers. Plus, she didn’t want to commercialize her dance skills. So, when Samson had called her about this, she turned him down right away.
But…
Watching the little old man who was still going on about dance, Flora saw a genuine love for it in his eyes.
After thinking for a moment, she asked, "Where's the contract?"
Knowing Flora had agreed, Bowie excitedly pulled the contract from his briefcase and handed it to her. Flora glanced over it quickly and signed without hesitation.
Bowie was caught off guard by how readily Flora agreed, and for a moment, he felt like it wasn't real. He had been worried he wouldn't be able to convince her, which is why he had roped in Samson to help sway her.
"Fifty million will be transferred to your account within three to five business days," Bowie said, his eyes twinkling as he extended an invitation: "Flora, would you be interested in joining the National Dance Association?"
"Not interested."
