In the evening, Flora made her way back to her dorm room. Shawn had sent her a flurry of messages, detailing how Dr. Jules had marched into the lab to stand up for her.

"Flora, Dr. Ray is already regretting his actions! He even said he wants to apologize to you. He's also softened a bit, saying that if you score at least 95 in every subject in your midterms, he'll let you back into the lab."

Leaning lazily against her headboard, Flora took her time replying, mostly just reading Shawn’s enthusiastic updates. Whether she returned to the lab or not didn’t really matter to her.

Just like Jules had said, that rundown lab wasn’t worth her time. Even if Dr. Ray personally begged her, she couldn't be bothered to go back.

He really wanted to help Flora. After spending so many days together, he had grown quite fond of her.

It was one in the morning by the time he finished organizing pages of key points. Strangely, Shawn didn’t feel tired at all. Despite staying up late these past few days, he always felt refreshed and stronger than before.
