Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 573

Crimson was a man of action. After dinner, he ordered his men to take Jason and the others out for some hard labor. They were put on patrol duty and tasked with a few 'odd jobs' on the side—cleaning the warehouse, moving bricks, that sort of thing.

Jason and his crew felt utterly humiliated. They were from Empire Base, and now they were trailing behind the folks from Club 257 like lackeys. What would people think if they saw this? Yet, with their boss under his wife's thumb and unwilling to stand up for them, they had no choice but to begrudgingly go along.

That evening, a lavish party was in full swing downstairs. Flora decided to join in. She swapped into a long dress, still wearing her phoenix mask, and descended the stairs with Connor.

She wore a midnight blue knee-length dress paired with crystal high heels. Her hair was pinned up, revealing her pale, swan-like neck and flawless jawline. As she walked down, the hem of her dress swayed gracefully with each step—it was a sight to behold.

Connor, walking beside her, wore a coat in a similar shade, his shirt buttoned up to the top, adding a touch of solemnity to his look. Together, they walked into the room against the backlight, looking almost otherworldly.

Everyone was momentarily captivated. Noticing the attention on Flora, Connor's brow furrowed. Flora had wanted to wear a red mini dress initially, but he had chosen something more understated for her. Still, she was too striking.

He took off his coat and draped it over Flora, his cold, brooding eyes scanning the room. Everyone shivered involuntarily, feeling as if death itself had cast its gaze upon them. They couldn't help but think, was all this really necessary? It was just an extra glance, after all.

Not far away, Selene sat in a booth, her gaze also fixed on Flora. She wondered if Flora knew Crimson well, would she also know S?

"Beautiful lady, may I have the honor of asking you for a dance?" Lost in thought, she was suddenly greeted by an outstretched hand. It was a handsome hand.

Selene's gaze shifted from the man's well-defined hand to his face. He had a handsome and gentle appearance, with gold-rimmed glasses. Behind those glasses, his amber eyes shimmered with a hint of a smile. He gave off a comfortable vibe, not at all frivolous. He was a very gentlemanly and handsome man.
