Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 682

She knew it wasn't right.

Flora didn't owe Shawn anything. But as a mother, her first instinct was always her son. She might as well apologize to Flora, she thought.

Alyssa's heart-wrenching cries tugged at anyone's heartstrings. Flora slid her phone back into her pocket, irritation creasing her brows. She glanced at Orla and gestured for her to come over.

Orla strutted over, thinking she'd won, a smug smile playing on her lips. “So, Flora, you’ve agreed?”

She had brought it up in front of Shawn’s parents and the lab team, confident that if Flora refused, they'd all see her as heartless and selfish. A little media manipulation would make Flora’s life hell in Austenberg.

Orla expected Flora to beg, to plead desperately. The thought widened her smile, but it quickly froze.

Her eyes widened in terror.

She hadn't even seen Flora move, but suddenly a sharp pain shot through her knees, and she was on the ground, kneeling.

Orla’s bodyguards rushed in, hands reaching for their waists.

Guns!

The air was thick with tension!

Darcy and the others turned pale, never having witnessed such a showdown.

Connor stepped forward, holding Flora's hand, positioning himself protectively by her side. His presence was overwhelming, exuding authority and dominance, making everyone feel a deep-rooted fear and submission.

The bodyguards' faces changed, struggling to breathe, their bravado crumbling in Connor’s presence, looking as meek as quails. They had been with the medical organization for years, completing countless missions, and had learned to spot someone not to be messed with.

“Flora, you!”
