Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 811

Flora was the outsider here, no doubt about it. Everyone had bought into Abbey's story, thinking Flora had nearly botched Karter's treatment. With their disdain for Flora practically oozing from their pores, they couldn't wait to show her the door.

"Abbey, you never cease to amaze me with how low you can go," Flora shot at Abbey, sarcasm dripping from every word, completely ignoring everyone else.

Abbey was caught off guard by Flora's boldness, feeling the sting of embarrassment, but admitting Flora's role in Karter's recovery was out of the question for her.

"What are you getting at, Flora?" Kruz asked, his brow furrowed in confusion. Was there more to this story than met the eye? What kind of trouble was Abbey stirring up now?

"Having a mob here isn't going to help with the treatment. Adrian, do you really want your dad's life on the line?" Abbey blurted out, desperate to keep her charade intact.

Adrian found himself torn, but Flora eased his burden with a simple, "Let's go," directed at Kruz.

As Flora made her exit, she knew Abbey would come crawling back eventually. She hadn’t yet shared the crucial next steps in the treatment, and Abbey's desire to claim credit was laughable if she couldn't follow through.

Outside, Adrian rushed to catch up, apologizing, "Flora, I'm so sorry for dragging you into this mess. Thank you for trying to help my dad."

"Hold off on the thanks. Your dad's got a rough night ahead of him," Flora replied cryptically, leaving Adrian bewildered as she walked away with purpose.

Kruz hurried after Flora, but not before giving Adrian a playful "you're screwed" gesture. Adrian was left pondering his blunder—had he really crossed Flora? She had come with nothing but good intentions, only to be met with hostility. And what did she mean about his dad suffering tonight?

...

Once she was outside the Falcone estate, Flora hopped into a car waiting at the curb. Inside were Connor, Moss, and Beck.

"Connor!" Flora exclaimed, immediately wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her head against his chest.
