Flora had already tuned him out. While Adrian and the rest kept running laps, she casually pulled out her phone to pass the time.
Inside the Group Chat 257, the conversation was buzzing. It wasn’t clear who had kicked it off, but a bunch of high-flyers were swapping some pretty cheeky jokes. Flora scrolled through, chuckling at the ones that tickled her fancy, even saving a few hilarious GIFs. Most of the jokes didn’t really do it for her, though.
She typed with one hand: "Send over a couple more."
Flora: "I've got some even better ones. Interested?"
No sooner had she sent the message than the chat fell silent, and then—

[Jules deleted a message]
[Racing's Top Dog deleted a message]
[Melancholy Guy deleted a message]
Dozens of bigwigs from all sorts of fields were hurriedly deleting their messages. They’d assumed Flora wasn’t around and felt bold enough to chat like that, but now... they'd been caught in the act! Their young club president shouldn’t be seeing such things!
Although—
It seemed like the president had even better resources than they did!
---
Up ahead, the boys watched, hoping Flora might turn things around. But clearly, they'd expected too much. Flora just stopped the car. They were totally let down. Adrian had talked such a big game earlier, and they’d secretly hoped Flora might pull a rabbit out of the hat, but now it looked more like a scare than a surprise.
With skills like that, how was she supposed to compete? Was she just setting herself up to be embarrassed?
Andy gripped the steering wheel tighter, making up his mind. No matter what, he had to clear things up with her afterward!
