Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 894

"Alex, go easy on the race, would ya? Give the lady a bit of dignity."

"It's fine to win, but make sure she doesn't lose too badly, alright?"

A bunch of young guys were plotting, all in Alex's best interest. He'd already rubbed the lady the wrong way earlier, and if he didn't make a good impression now, his future was looking pretty rocky.

Alex kept quiet, lips pressed together, trying to figure out how to let Grace lose without making her look bad. He never wanted to humiliate Grace; he just wanted her to know her limits.

"Grace, I'm with you all the way!"

Chris thumped his chest, determined not to leave his girl Grace behind. Even if it meant looking like a fool later, he didn't mind; he'd rather face it with Grace.

Grace shot him a look: "Hold on tight; I don't want you getting sick later."

Chris's face was a picture of disbelief. He wanted to tell Grace that there was no way he was going to be sick; with her snail-like speed, he'd probably fall asleep and have a nice nap.

"Grace, go on, I can take it." He couldn't bear to dampen Grace's spirits.

"Alright," Grace replied nonchalantly.

Adrian took up the role of referee and blew the whistle—

The race was on!

Alex was still pondering how to make Grace's loss look graceful, so he was a bit distracted. The idea of Grace actually beating him seemed laughable. He could give her a two-lap head start and still win.

But then—

As soon as the whistle blew, the car beside him zipped off!

Leaving a trail of dust!

Before anyone could blink, Grace's car had already zoomed a good hundred meters away, just a tiny speck in the distance. Meanwhile, Alex's car was still at the starting line.

"Thunk!"
