Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 896

Sigh.

What's a woman doing racing cars anyway?

He'd shown up late on purpose, just to see Flora make a fool of herself in front of everyone. He figured some of the young hotshots on the team wouldn't take too kindly to Flora, expecting a bit of a clash. But surprisingly, they seemed to be getting along just fine.

"What are you all standing around for? Get back to training!"

He brushed off Flora, glaring at Adrian and the others with a bark.

"Coach, she was just helping us out with some stuff..."

"Helping you?" Riley cut off the young man's words, casting a sneering glance at Flora, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Though he didn't spell it out, his disdain for Flora was obvious.

"What's with that attitude?" Kruz wasn't having any of it.

"Coach, she's really talented!" the others in the Reyes Racing Team chimed in to back Flora up.

Riley's sneer only deepened, convinced they were just trying to curry favor with Flora. He snapped, "Lady, racing isn't a bumper car ride. It’s serious business. I don’t know why Mr. Johnson let you join, but I don’t coach women, especially those who might slow us down. Go find a car to play with, but don’t come crying if you get hurt. If you’re bored, just leave."

"And you all, are you going to train or not? If not, I might as well head home. Your lack of enthusiasm is why you're all stuck under the Joneses’ feet!"

With that, Riley plopped himself down onto a chair.

The young guys were fuming but kept quiet. Nobody liked Riley, but he was a big deal, a senior coach at TM Club. With a race against the Joneses coming up, they needed him.

"Is this how you coach?" Flora frowned at him.

Constantly belittling his students, what could he possibly teach them?

"Oh, you think you can do a better job? Why don't you take over, and I'll head out?"

Riley sneered, dismissing Flora, who wasn’t the real Miss Reyes in his eyes.

His disdain for Flora, always targeting her, wasn’t just because he looked down on her. There was another reason.

Abbey was his goddess.

And Flora had ruined his goddess, leaving her neither here nor there. He wished he could tear Flora apart.

"Then leave. I'll take over."
