This charade has to stop. Seriously, how much more can Flora take?
"Yes, boss!"
The young guy, who'd been munching on chips just a second ago, moved like a whirlwind, grabbing Riley's arm before anyone could blink.
"Ah!"
Riley's arm bent at an impossible angle, the sound of bones cracking mingling with his screams. It was enough to make anyone's skin crawl.
"Mr. Luke, help me! Please, help me!"
Riley was convinced his right hand was done for— the pain was excruciating. Sweat dripped down his face as he desperately looked to Luke, his last hope in a dire situation. In this mess, only Luke could save him.
Luke was livid, his rage nearly boiling over. Riley had been conning him the entire time, claiming to be some high-level coach when he was just a lowly instructor at TM Club. And on top of that, he’d been kicked out!
It all made sense now—why Flora had questioned how much he’d shelled out to bring Riley into the Jones family. Every cent of that million dollars was down the drain!
After mulling it over, Luke decided to try and smooth things over for Riley.
"Mr. Youth, Riley is now with the Jones family as our coach. Could you let this slide, just this once, for my sake?"
Luke asked, swallowing his pride. If Riley was shamed, it would reflect poorly on the entire Jones family. They’d already embarrassed themselves enough; they couldn't become the Reyes family's laughingstock.
Youth turned slowly to him, a mocking smile playing on his lips. "For your sake? Who do you think you are? Do you really think you deserve that kind of respect?"
Given how they’d gone after Flora, he should count himself lucky he wasn’t being dealt with, too.
Luke’s face froze. In the racing world, sure, the Jones family might not be top dogs, but on Lone Island, they were big players. How dare Youth disregard him like that?
His tone turned icy, "Riley’s been booted from TM Club, so you’ve got no right to deal with him. Mr. Youth, don’t forget, you’re on Lone Island now, not the mainland. The Jones family isn’t something you want to mess with."
His message was loud and clear.
