"Oh, come on, why make such a big deal out of this?" The other ladies quickly jumped in, trying to smooth things over before they got too messy.
"It was just something Flora said offhand, why take it so seriously?"
"Yeah, no need to drag Féraphine into this."
"Hmph." Camille scoffed, shooting a glare at Flora. "You're just a kid, already making up stories. You even had the nerve to say the spices I bought from Féraphine were fake! Feeling scared now, are you?"
Flora just couldn't see what she had to be scared of. Camille's logic didn't make any sense to her. She squeezed Amanda's hand, hooked her foot around a chair, and sat down with a laid-back air. "Well, let's just wait and see."
Camille was caught off guard, not getting it at first. But once she did, she was steaming mad. Stubborn girl. She wouldn't back down until she had no choice. When Féraphine shows up and exposes her lies, let's see how calm she stays!
Seeing Flora so chill and confident, Amanda felt her own nerves settle. Flora always had a handle on things. Amanda even found herself a bit excited. Camille was so full of herself now, but she'd probably end up with egg on her face.
The other ladies went quiet, all waiting for the show to start. About five minutes later, Camille's phone buzzed. She answered it eagerly, a grin spreading across her face. "Féraphine's here! I'll go get him."
Flora lounged in her chair, her eyes on the sachets some of the ladies were holding. They were a pretty close match to hers. Enough to fool someone at a glance. Whoever was pretending to be her had put in some effort.
"Féraphine, over here!" Camille's voice rang out from outside.
