Adrian jogged over with a grin, "Hey, Sis! What brings you here? Come to see Dad?"
"Yeah, let's go together!" Flora replied with a chuckle.
The two of them made their way to the study, and Adrian casually pushed the door open.
Karter was at his desk, absorbed in documents. The moment he heard them, he looked up, his face breaking into a warm smile when he saw Flora.
"Flora."
Then his eyes fell on Adrian, and the smile faded. "What are you doing here?" he asked, a hint of disapproval in his voice.
Adrian was taken aback. Seriously, was that any way to greet your own son?
"Fine, I'll head out," Adrian muttered, feeling a bit miffed.
"Hold on," Karter waved him off. "This actually involves you too."
Picking up a file from the desk, Karter handed it to Flora. "Flora, you're probably aware that the Reyes family has held its place among the top families for years, mainly because of our pharmaceutical chain. It's the backbone of Lone Island's medical economy."
"I'm passing this chain to you now," Karter said earnestly. "It's only right; your father built this, and it belongs to you. I've sorted out all the paperwork, just need your signature."
Flora was caught off guard. She hadn't expected Karter to bring this up.
By doing this, Karter was essentially putting the entire Reyes family in her hands.
"I don't want the pharmaceutical chain. Give it to Adrian," she said calmly, fishing out a piece of milk candy from her pocket.
Connor always tucked a variety of candies into her pockets. Each one was different, like a little surprise, and they were all her favorites.
