Flora had spent a couple of hours with the Neville family before heading back home. The heirs were reluctant to see her leave, having thoroughly enjoyed their chat. They found her to be quite captivating, not just because of her looks, but because she was incredibly skilled in the art of perfume-making. She knew a ton about things they were completely in the dark about!
The differences between people were truly striking. Here they were, all women, yet Candace just didn't seem to have that same appeal.
“Nathan, which one of this lot do you have a good feeling about?” Nathan asked Flora in a quiet voice as they reached the door.
Flora thought for a moment before slowly responding, “The one in the sports jacket.”
Besides being pleasant, this person had a decent knack for perfumery. Plus, he asked the right questions.
Even though she found Nathan’s request for her to help pick an heir quite ludicrous, she took it seriously and paid extra attention during their talk.
Nathan mulled over her answer thoughtfully.
After Flora left, Nathan's smile dimmed slightly as he asked the butler, “Where are Jaden and that woman?”
The butler replied with respect, “As per your instructions, sir, they’ve been asked to leave the Neville family estate, only allowed to take two items of clothing…”

Back at the Falcone family estate, Kruz came running over, tears streaming down his face. “Flora! Help me, please! Flora!”
“What’s up?” Flora asked, looking puzzled.
“My mom and brother are planning to send me to the Military Academy!” Kruz sobbed. “You wouldn’t believe it; that place is no place for anyone. If I go, who knows how many years it’ll be before I come back! Why should I have to go just because the Reyes family decided to send Adrian there?”
“Flora, you’re the best. You’re kind, beautiful, generous, and charming. You wouldn’t be as cruel as my mom and brother, right? You wouldn’t want to send me to the Military Academy, would you? If I go, you’ll lose your source of joy.”
Flora hadn’t expected Kruz to be sent to the Military Academy, but she thought it might be a good chance for him to toughen up a bit.
She waited for him to finish crying before saying, “Do you know who sent Adrian to the Military Academy?”
“Isn’t it obvious!” Kruz fumed, rolling up his sleeves. “It must be Karter. Who else could it be? It couldn't possibly be you, dear Flora! You wouldn’t be so heartless! Karter is a real piece of work, pushing Adrian into the lion’s den!”
“You’re wrong.”
