Henrik caught her wrist and gently pulled her towards him, then turned his gaze to Diego. "Does she have any work lined up later?"
"No, none at all..."
Diego was completely thrown off, missing Cecelia's frantic attempts to signal him. Did he really just hear that? Was Mr. Raul pursuing Cecelia? This was the kind of juicy gossip that would have all of Florik Entertainment buzzing! Could he really be introducing a new boss lady?
Henrik, unfazed, nodded as if he knew Cecelia was just trying to pull a fast one on him. "You head back. I'll take Cecelia with me and make sure she gets home tonight."
With that, Henrik gently but firmly guided Cecelia into the car. Diego stood there, bewildered and windswept.
In the car, Cecelia tried to blend into the upholstery. "Mr. Raul, where are we headed?"
"Dinner," Henrik replied simply.
"Uh, about that... I actually have some personal stuff lined up, so I might not be able to join you for dinner. Maybe next time? I promise to make it up to you with a fancy meal," Cecelia stammered, feeling the awkwardness thick in the air. It was one thing with Diego around, but alone with Henrik, she could hardly breathe.
Henrik stayed silent, adjusting the air conditioning, which was a touch warm. He shrugged off his jacket and tossed it onto the back seat.
Seeing his silence, Cecelia gathered her courage. "Mr. Raul..."
Henrik finally looked at her. "Your agent mentioned you didn't have work today."
"It's personal stuff, really," Cecelia said with a sheepish grin.
Henrik fell silent again, scrutinizing her for a good five seconds before speaking. "Is having a meal with me so disagreeable?"
Cecelia was at a loss for words.
