Mr Pierce looks at me and waits.

“Your safeword?” he asks again. 

“I stick to the traffic light system. It makes it easier and means there are no excuses for not stopping,” I explain. 

“You think I would ask for your safeword just to ignore it and carry on?” He tilts his head. 

“I don’t know you, Mr Pierce, and it wouldn’t be the first time. someone pretended they forgot my safe word, so traffic lights, even the most vanilla people know red means stop!” I snap. 

“Well, those who ignored your safeword shouldn’t even have permission to touch you in such a way,” his words are low and almost a growl. “I assure you, regardless of your safeword, you say it, I stop,” he stares into my eyes. 

I nod. “I’ll stick with the traffic light system, thanks,” I reply.
