Chapter 149
Sitting in the car, I smile at him. He didn’t need to help Clara, and if he did things to help her, he would pull me in so damn quick I would drown.
I don’t care about me, but Clara? She’s my weakness, and he used it, and there was no way I could shout at him for helping her.
“Clara is only twenty, right?” He looks at me, and I nod. “Have you seen where she is living?” He looks at me.
“No, she didn’t want me to go because of her mum. I can understand, though,” I reply. He sighs and smiles. He moves, speaks to the driver, and sits back down.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
“Showing you something you don’t fucking know,” he says, and I sit confused. Shortly after, the car stops, and he gets out and helps me from the car.
I stand and look around us.

down a small àlley.
“If you’re going to murder me, can we have sex first so I am at least high from that?” I smirk at him, and he groans.
“I’ll do more than fuck and murder you in a minute, come on,” he laughs and pulls me through. Stopping, he points at the small camper home. It’s barely bigger than a small van. How can anyone live there? Then again, I guess it’s better than a tent like many around here.
“What?” I ask.
“That’s where Clara lives,” he says.
My head shakes. “No, she lives in a two–bed flat close to work,” I
argue.
“That’s the address on her recruitment form. Go knock and see,” he says. I glance from him to the camper home; walking over, I look at the broken windows, seeing cardboard over them. God, I don’t want to.
He stands behind me, his hand on my hip, knocking; I suck in a breath and tell myself he’s wrong until it opens and I see her. No! My head shakes, and the tears fill my eyes.
“Alexis? What… Why are you here?” She looks at me and panics.

“You honestly live here?” I ask, and she looks around. How long have you lived here?” I ask. I force myself to calm down, as I can see she is worried. “Can we come in? No judging at all.” I say. She nods and steps back.
I walk in with Eros behind me and look around. Her mum is gone, but the old medical stuff is piled in a corner next to a bed.
“How long have you lived here?” I ask.
“Always,” she whispers, and I turn to look at her. “My mùm brought me up here,” she explains. So this wasn’t like a last. minute thing, she always lived here?
“How long has your mum been ill?” I ask because something tells me she lied a lot, a hell of a lot more.
“Since I was thirteen, back then, though she could walk, she just struggled to feed herself or hold things,” she says, and I stare at her. Something does make sense. None of this adds up. I’ve known her for a year. We were on completely different
schedules before that, so I saw her in passing but not to speak, and I was always going to other places for shoots, so was barely in the main location.
For an entire year, she lied about where she lived. Eros shifts. behind me and leans into me.
“Ask her real age,” he whispers, and my body runs cold. I glance

“How old are you, Clara?” I ask. No, I look at him. She turns twenty–one soon, and she has worked for three years, so she can’t have lied about her age.
I turn and look at her, and her eyes are wide. She did. She fucking lied?
“Nineteen,” she whispers, and I swear.
“That means you joined when you were seventeen. What the hell, Clara!” I shout, and she peers down at her feet. Seventeen, so I met her when she was eighteen. So had been working before that, which explains why she was a virgin when she started.
Everyone told me that. I just assumed she was a good girl.
“Based on a secret contract I found between her and Elon, she started at sixteen, yes, the legal age to have sex but not to do porn,” Eros looks at her.
“No, as she has only worked for two years,” argue.
“One and a half in that location, one and a half in secret with Elon,” he says, and my head shakes. I look at her.

“How the hell did you meet Elon?” I ask. I watch as she moves around the small camper van, and hands me a picture, I look at it confused.
