Chapter 157
Today has tired me out. I didn’t go to work; instead, I stayed at home with Eros. His family was here, and it felt rude to leave, even if it was for work.
His mum is amazing. While John is the oldest of the three, he is by far the most immature. I’ve watched him the entire day as all he has done. is annoying Eros. All the times were on purpose, and while it annoys Eros, he’s laughing, so maybe he’s used to his older brother’s behaviour?
Kacy has spent most of her time talking to Clara, it’s nice to see her speaking to someone closer to her age and who isn’t in the business. All her friends are from work.
“Finished,” I say and hand Eros the papers. Before he can get them, his mum takes them from my hand. I hear his deep sigh, and I do feel for him. I now understand why he isn’t keen to see his mum often.
She’s spent all day on his business matters. It’s clear where Eros got his business head from, but Gail is obsessive. She’s pushed herself deep into his business, and he’s stressed out over it.
“You realise if you made him exclusive to you, you would benefit, right?” She looks at Eros.
“I know that, mother, but I have other factors to consider, not just the

benefits. The downside is that I would be limited in resources, I know what I’m doing,” he says and she looks at him with an amused expression. “Just…not to sound rude, but please stay out of the
business. I can’t concentrate with you standing there telling me what to do and not to do.”
My teeth bite against my lip at his words, and I expect her to be hurt or offended. Instead, she laughs loudly.
“Will you leave work alone then?” she asks, and he looks at her in confusion. “I only put myself into your work because that’s all you do when I’m here,” she explains, and he nods slowly.
“All these years, you did it rather than just say stop working and pay attention to me.” Eros laughs.
“I’m your mother. I shouldn’t need to fight for your attention.” She’s not wrong there, if she doesn’t come often, he should put away work for a few hours at least so he can spend time with her.
“Okay, Mother, what would you like to do?” he asks, and she smiles at him.
“Well, John and William are busy, and so is Kacy. I thought that me, you and the lovely Alexis could go somewhere and eat and talk,” she smiles at him.
“Mother, I’m fine with that, but keep those words inside,” he says and grabs his phone. I look between them in confusion.

“My son seems to think that I’m going to start asking about grandbabies,” she shrugs, and he groans.
“Mother,” Eros shouts, and she laughs.
“It’s a good job I had a daughter, at least she appears to want children, unlike my sons,” she says and I fight back the laugh, Eros standst glaring at her.
She turns and smiles at him. “I wouldn’t mention it so often if you or John cared. I should have had grandkids by the latest ten years ago. I’ll be dead before you two figure your lives out,” she shouts, and he sits, seemingly realising we’re not going out to eat.
“You might have had those grandbabies if you didn’t run away every woman we found,” he argues back.
“If you two were any good at picking women, I wouldn’t need to chase them away, and you started this conversation before you even try to blame me.” Technically, she is right.
She hadn’t mentioned it; it was Eros who told her not to speak of it, and of course, she did.
“Do you want children, Alexis?” She asks.
“Mother!” Eros shouts. “Give us a minute, please, Alexis,” he says. I nod, grateful for the escape from the question. Standing, I rush off.

“It was an innocent question, Eros,” she says as I close the door and escape. I stop when I see Kacy.
“She mentioned babies, right? That’s the only time Eros shouts at her,” she says while laughing.
“Yeah, they are currently arguing over it,” I reply and walk through to find Clara. Kacy joins us, and we sit talking.
“You realise Eros does want marriage and kids, right?” Kacy states. I shrug. It’s not something we’ve discussed, not really.
“They have only really been dating like two months,” Clara says while laughing. “Although, she moved in quick.
