Chapter 172
I wake, feeling confused and groggy. My head is pounding and I fight to remember what happened yesterday. I remember Mr. Anderson, the shower, my words after which caused him to punch me.
The club, I was at the club. I sit up and look around, unsure of where I am. The bed is huge, bigger than my room at Dean’s, the whole room is huge. Did I go home with someone? I fight to remember but there is nothing.
Panic rises, did Dean sell me on? I feel sick. Standing my legs shake. I walk to the door and open it quietly, peering outside. I can’t see or hear anyone. I poke my head out more trying to see more but there is nothing. Wherever I am is nice, that is for sure.
I step out quietly, walking as quickly as possible, trying to find the way out, I am constantly turning and looking behind me.
My body slams into something hard. Looking up a guy is peering down. at me amused. I scream, and push him, his face full of shock. His hands try to grasp me, moving I kick him between the legs, watching as he falls to his knees.
Swinging my fist I hit his nose and rush past him, only to be captured quickly and thrown against a wall. My body is now pinned unable to
move.
“FUCK YOU!” Screaming I spit at him.
“Fiesty, isn’t she?” He laughs like a maniac.
“Fiesty? Let me go and I will show you fiesty!” I stamp down on his foot.
“Woah! What the fuck.” I turn and see Demitri, shit.
I stay frozen, the hands that held me against the wall now letting me
“What the fuck did you do Marcello?” Demitri turns my face, shock covering his.
“Wasn’t me, that was already there.” I watch this Marcello hold up his
hands.
“Where did you get the bruise?” Demitri quizzes me, but I am frozen. How did I get here?
“From crazy to sane in 0.01 second, that shit is good.” Marcello laughs and I hear a booming laugh from down the stairs.
“Sounded like fun, I wanted to join.”
I turn hearing the voice, unable to see anyone.
“Face, Daisy, what happened?” Demitri stands waiting.
“I…” I can’t speak, which is weird.
“Okay, well come down and get some food. Then speak.” I watch as Marcello walks down the stairs, Demitri pulling me along with him as I get downstairs I see another man, the one who was laughing.
“Daisy, this is Marcello my little brother and Calix, my older brother.” Demitri points them out. Shit, I look at Marcello apologetically.
“I’m sorry.”
“Hey, I won’t complain it was fun.” Marcello grins and eats, Demitri hitting him for some reason.
I watch as Calix. I think that is what Demitri called him, pushes a plate to me. I glance around the room looking for a clock, the time, anything but there isn’t one.
“You slept all night and through breakfast, woke for dinner, just eat, please,” Demitri states clearly sensing my confusion. I don’t argue, instead, I eat. Yet I can feel their eyes on me.
“So your eye? If he didn’t do it, then what happened, it wasn’t there last night.” Demitri sits and waits.
“I covered it with makeup, I guess that has come off now.”
“Right, and who did it?” Demitri looks annoyed at having to ask again. So I sit and tell them the whole story, their faces going from amazed, to amused, to a look of pure disgust. I don’t blame them.
“Why the fuck would he try and do that! Why didn’t Dean stop him?” Demitri looks at me, clearly angry.
“Dean told him to do it, as a punishment. Apparently, I should be grateful Mr Anderson also punched me as he had worse planned.”
“How can you sit there and talk like it is nothing?” Calix questions me.
“Because it is, the bruise, Mr Anderson is not the worst I have faced and won’t be the worst. It is just another day.” I have no choice but to accept it and act like it is nothing.
“Why though? You said they didn’t let you eat, and barely let you. sleep, why?” Demitri questions.
I feel my cheeks flood with heat, do they know? Then again if I said it without mentioning Demitri maybe they won’t know.
“Because I took pleasure, he and Mary noticed. I am not allowed to take pleasure. That was my mistake. I also drank, that was my mistake.” I slipped, Demitri made me slip. I see guilt in his eyes, I want to comfort him but I know I shouldn’t. The room falls quiet and I can see their eyes, they are having a silent conversation without me.
117000
I simply keep my head down and they begin talking, and I hear the name, Rosalie, she seems to be their girlfriend, all of their girlfriends. I don’t know why I am so shocked, Three guys and one girl is nothing.
“Next time some warning, as I said, for a moment I thought you brought some mutt off the street.” I flinch at Calix’s words, sickness builds within me. I overate. I do that. I am not used to frequent food, so
I hate to waste food.
The amount they put on my plate was too much, but I can’t leave it, it causes me anxiety if I leave it.
“You okay?” Demitri looks at me concerned and I nod. “Clearly not, you flinched and turned white, why?”
Why? I decide to answer it in half rather than the full reason.
“Just the word mutt, that is all.” My words are mumbled, Demitri nudging me waiting for me to continue.
“Before I was sold to Dean, I had previous owners, my name there was mutt, for about eleven years.” Now they are shocked. I watch as Demitri stands and walks away. Did I do something wrong? How would I know if I had anyway?
This is all new to me, conversations, everything.
“I should leave.” Hell Dean will kill me for leaving without him. I
hadn’t even thought of it. I stand, and someone’s hand grips mine stopping me. I jump back startled, watching as Calix’s hand drops and releases me.
“Sorry, you don’t have to. Demitri spoke to Dean and paid to keep you here for the weekend. So relax, you have the weekend off.”
I want to laugh but I don’t know how to. This whole situation is fucked
