Playing With Fire
Getting on the bikes we head back to the club, as we stop my dad is there talking to Sam. I watch as they walk over to us.
“She did great, no accidents.” Jasper speaks and my dad smiles and relaxes.
“You were worried, daddy, why?” I can see he was.
“It’s been years since you used a bike princess, I wasn’t sure how you would handle it, but I’m glad you did. Little D is inside, go find him and get ready to leave. I need to speak to Jasper.” My dad kisses my cheek and I walk into the club seeing little D standing waiting.
“Are you ready?” I look at him and he nods.
“Yeah, all ready.” He smiles and we walk out, I say goodbye to my dad, and get sorted, not missing Jasper watching me. He’s brave and lucky no one has noticed his eyes fixed on my ass as I climb on the bike. I try and push it out of my mind as I begin to take Little D around the city.
I take him through the fastest routes, explaining the best ways to go. He’s meant to be getting ready to work for my dad, so he needs to know things. We spend an hour on the bikes before he stops at the side of the road. I look at him confused and stop beside him.
“We have earpieces in to talk, why stop?” He turns and smiles at me.
“It felt a bit weird talking without seeing you, especially when I wanted to say thank you. Your advice helped, turned out my ex had struggled to move on after I just disappeared.”
“So you’re seeing her right?” I smile and he shakes his head.
“No, I can’t go back. Plus she has a life there, I don’t.”
“Well, you’re welcome. Now to get back?” I look at him waiting.
His head shakes. “Why the rush Harley?”
“No rush, just we said we would go out on the bikes and go straight back.” Well, we didn’t, but I didn’t want to spend longer with him than needed.
“Does your dad know“? I look up at him confused. “You and Jasper.”
“Nothing to tell him little D. I’m not getting into this.”
“But there is more there. I’m not stupid.”
Shit. I laugh slightly, fuck this and fuck him telling my dad I know how to stop him. “Look, my life has nothing to do with you. If you keep talking about it I will make sure my daddy knows that you keep getting involved with my personal life and asking questions that none of his club members should be asking me.” I slam down the visor, the bike roars to life and I rush back.
If he thinks I’m about to go to my dad upset, he might shut the hell up about me and Jasper. I hear him talking and telling me to stop speeding. off and he will keep it shut. I smile at that. He promises to stay out of my business but is panicking so I slow down as I reach the club, pulling in, I get off the bike and he stops beside me.
“I get it. Don’t worry, I won’t say shit or talk about your life.” He storms inside and my dad looks at me confused.
“What happened princess?”
“Nothing daddy, think it might be because he was talking about his ex. and he felt guilty for how he left it.” I shrug my shoulders, hoping he takes that and believes it.
“Okay princess, come in for a drink, don’t disappear.” I nod and laugh, walking in I sit with him, and I see Joel. I don’t get why he is here. This was meant to be a safe space for me.
“Why are you staring at Joel baby girl?” I look up at Jasper shocked, then realise my dad isn’t even sitting with us now. “Your dad left two- minutes ago. Stop staring.” He looks at me worried.
“I didn’t know he came here Daddy, that’s all.” He’s stood talking to little D, which I don’t fucking like. I feel myself panicking, and Jasper moves to block my view.
“Yes, your dad invited him a few times to make an effort so he feels welcome. Baby girl, you’re still trying to stare at him.”
I laugh and look at him. “Not staring, just, I never expected to see him. here Daddy. I thought it would be the one place I could go and be sure he wasn’t at.” I did, and he just destroyed that as well.
“Just forget him, he doesn’t matter baby girl, he’s with Ivy and to be honest, I agree with you. That won’t last.” He smiles at me. “I wish I could cuddle you right now baby girl.” I look up into his eyes and bite my lip.
