I decided to steal Marcello’s idea and stay at home, I am all for her having freedom but something about her dating a guy feels too far. I doubt I could sit there and watch her either. 

Sitting together we do work, I’m still trying to figure out who was at the casino that Alesandro would have let win to gain the money. 

I hear the door and look up, Demitri walks in and behind him Daisy, my eyes widen when I see her. The dress is ripped open, and her hair is a mess. She doesn’t say anything just runs past crying and I hear her door lock. 

“What did you do?” I look at Demitri 

“You think I did that! Fuck off, Calix. He can explain.” I watch as he points to Troy. Stepping forward I look at him. 

“She was fine, everything was fine. She went to the toilet and didn’t come back out. After a few minutes, I went in and found her screaming and fighting Alex off.” 

“He’s dead right?” I watch as Demitri shakes his head. 

“Daisy ran out, I had hold of him, but at that moment it was either stay and kill him or chase Daisy. I chose to chase her, I didn’t know Demitri was there.” 

“What happened for it to get to that?” I look at Troy. 

“Nothing. I swear, she was laughing, they both were. She didn’t speak, so we have no idea what happened or was said in the bathroom.” Troy

looks at me. 

“So we go find him.” Marcello stands and I shake my head. 

“Not yet, we know where he is. He can’t get out of the city, we need to know before we go for him.” Turning I walk to her room, knocking she doesn’t reply. 

“Daisy, it’s me, Cal, please let me in. Just so I know you’re okay.” I knock again but don’t get an answer. I wait a few minutes and knock again. 

“Daisy, please. I don’t want to unlock the door. I will though to make sure you’re okay.” I hear the door unlock, Moving I open it and go in closing the door. Turning I look at her, she stays sat on the bed with 

the blanket around her. 

“Are you okay?” Moving I sit next to her, and she nods. I want to kill him, but I can’t, not until I know everything. 

“It’s my fault.” 

I stare at her, shocked by her words. “Like fucking hell! What the hell 

Daisy, that is 

your fault!” 

“It is. He asked how I knew you, I explained, I shouldn’t have told him.” Moving I wrap my arm around her. 

“Bullshit Daisy, no matter what your past is, no one deserves that! I don’t care if you chose to sell your body, it doesn’t mean you’re at fault. I don’t get it, he seemed fine.” He did otherwise I wouldn’t have agreed. 

“I think he knew.” Her words quiet, and I look at her confused. “The longer I spent there, the longer I spent with him, the more I missed your guys. It felt wrong, I think he sensed that I was going to leave, which is why he followed me.”

I don’t know what to say, so instead I stay quiet with my arms wrapped around her. 

“When you’re ready, tell any of us what happened Daisy.” I smile at her. 

“I don’t know what happened. I was in the toilet and he came in. I asked why, and he said we couldn’t go back to his or mine. I told him I didn’t plan to. Which I didn’t. I had decided to come home. Then he started to kiss me and pin me down, I was shouting at him to get off, and he said he would leave cash and not to worry. I called him crazy. After he ripped my dress, I just accepted it was going to happen, then just before Troy came in, he said something like it was easier than he thought.” 

I listen to her talk but don’t interrupt, everything he said will help. I stay with my arms wrapped around her as she falls asleep. Moving I walk through, Demitri and Marcello looking at me. 

“Well?” Demitri asks. 

“Well, she thinks it’s her fault for telling him her past.” 

“Bullshit!” I turn to Troy and he shakes his head. Turning back I look at Marcello and Demitri. 

“Apparently the later it got, the more awkward she felt, and the more she missed us. So, she thought he sensed she was going to come home. Followed her to the bathroom. He told her they couldn’t go to his or here, and she told him she had no plans to. So he tried taking it, told her he would leave her some money, then mentioned it being easier than he expected. “I sit down. 

“Well, we find him.” I nod to Demitri.

“We don’t kill him Demitri, not fucking quick. Him saying it was casier than expected means there is more there. This wasn’t fucking random.” Something more is there I just don’t know what. 

“I won’t.” Demitri looks at me and I laugh. “I won’t, regardless of how much he pushes or says, I won’t flip, not until we get answers.” 

Looking at him I nod, I can see he means it. Something about it being about Daisy has him calm in a way I haven’t seen before. 

“Right well let’s go.” Marcello stands and I shake my head. 

“You two go, I’m staying here with her.” I won’t leave her. 

“Back here or the business?” Marcello looks at me. 

“Here, keep him alive until tomorrow.” Turning I walk through to Daisy, wrapping my arms around her, I watch as she sleeps, her body tangled around mine. I keep my phone close so I can see updates. They found him and have him in the room, but nothing is making him talk. 

I watch as Daisy wakes, and I smile down at her. 

“Morning.” My word is soft.
