202–Are They Jealous Yet?
Nora:
My checks turned red when I realized what he had been staring at the whole time before deciding to look away. I awkwardly adjusted my shirt, pushing my breast back inside, and then got off the bed.
“The woods are not a safe place for you, Nora,” he resumed the conversation once he saw I was ready to talk, giving me a strange look of concern.
“I know about the woods, and I know I’m the type who can get herself in danger when she hears someone else needs help. Just a few minutes ago, there was someone screaming loudly in the woods. She possibly needed help, but you came out of nowhere to silence me instead, and it was my stupidity that I didn’t resist,” I confessed, now feeling guilty for not resisting when he pulled me back into the woods.
“What if whoever was in the woods died tonight? Who will be responsible for it?” I placed both my hands on my waist and asked him pointedly.
It wasn’t easy to look at him and not remember the hurtful words he had spoken to me when he started dating Natalia. His attitude had changed around that time. It was as if he had found a new will to live and desperately wanted to get rid of me then.
“That fool who thought it was a good idea to roam around the woods when it’s been made clear for everyone to stay away from there after dark,” Cain replied, showing little concern.
I watched his face in silence before recalling the question he never

answered.
“What were you doing in the woods?” I made sure he was looking me in the eye when I asked him. He tilted his head slightly and then scoffed.
“I can be in the woods because I know I can handle any danger,” he replied, not really addressing what I wanted to know.
“Okay, but you didn’t answer my question. Why were you in those woods?” I asked again, and this time, I too tilted my head, deepening the eye contact so he knew he couldn’t evade my question when he had made me answer all of his.
“I saw you run into the woods and followed you,” he replied. Before I could ask him anything else, he added, “and I didn’t hear any screams.”
My face turned red with anger. Was he trying to imply that I was lying?
“Did you learn this trick from your new girlfriend? How to make Noral look crazy? I heard the screams, and I know they were real,” I hissed, stomping my foot.
“When did you hear me say that you didn’t hear them? I said I didn’t. hear them,” he shrugged, making me at a loss for words.
“Okay! I think that will be it for the night then. You may leave.” Not having anything else to talk about, I pointed at the door and asked him
to leave.
“To think you would have realized that your actions hurt others by now, I think it is clear you don’t. You don’t even seem like someone
anything besides herself,” his statements seemed off.
who cares…
Definitely, he wasn’t talking about me.

Or else, since when have I ever given him the impression that I only care about myself?
“Is it something your girlfriend told you about me? Maybe she’s forgetting I did take care of her. But she wanted more and more, and she got it now, thanks to a certain–” I closed my eyes, realizing I really didn’t need to dive into specifics. He knew who I was talking about.
“Yeah, it is always others‘ fault, Always others making you look bad,” he scoffed with an eye roll. It was such a bizarre way to end our conversation as he left the room through the door.
Before I could even suggest he leave through the window, he was already gone.
“What an idiot.” I muttered, stomping my foot before crawling back into bed. Soon after, I dozed off. The morning was going to be a busy day since Brody was coming over.
He said on the phone that there was something he wanted to show me. I guess I was slowly getting back to life. Maybe having Brody around really helped me. He made sure I didn’t feel lonely.
Wearing a purple short dress and curling my hair, I was determined to make things work between me and Brody now.
The brothers had shown their true colors. Nash wouldn’t go against his father, and I couldn’t do anything about it either. I guess the Moon Goddess just played a very nasty game with me. She must be laughing at me, thinking I can keep secrets and twist reality.
“You look pretty. Your boyfriend asked permission to take you out,” Lord Atwood uttered, avoiding the gazes of his sons, who were having a meeting about pack matters with their father.
