214–The Shady Death Of My Stepbrother’s Blackmailer
Nora:
“I will come to see you tomorrow, okay?” Brody asked as he gently cupped my face in his hands and kissed my lips. I couldn’t return the kiss because of the guilt I was feeling in that moment. I had to tell him. what I had done. But how? That would ruin Nash’s reputation.
“Take care,” I said to him before getting into the car with Nash. Ryker and Cain had gone to drop off Natalya and April. Everyone was scared of going anywhere alone now that it was clear the monsters had returned.
Our journey began after Daphne sat down. She took the passenger seat with Nash, and after dropping her off, he turned to me.
“You can come sit in the front now,” he insisted, but I shook my head, dismissing his offer. I bet he could tell I was in a bad mood, so he didn’t insist and started the car again.
“Is this why you suddenly stopped? Because you remembered you have a girlfriend?” I asked, unable to stay silent any longer.
“You have a boyfriend too,” he muttered, but it wasn’t about getting
back at me.
“And you knew about it. But you blindsided me with your secret. relationship with that murderous she–wolf. Couldn’t you have given me a heads–up?” This was the first time I spoke so angrily with Nash. In. the last few weeks, apart from the mate bond, we had connected on a different level, so I didn’t expect this from him.

“Nora! I didn’t stop because of that,” he started, but I interrupted him.
“Oh! Then my virginity must be the issue,” I hissed. He shook his head. and made a face, which I watched in the mirror.
“No! Fuck, never. You weren’t committed to me,
so you could have lost
it to anyone. Why would I be upset about it?” he explained, and my body eased up only a little before I remembered Daphne.
“Then it was because of Daphne?” I folded my arms over my chest, feeling so betrayed that my temples were ringing.
“Nora! I did it because you’ve told me we don’t have a future. I hated myself when I realized what I was doing. To sleep with you even after telling you we can’t be together made me see myself in a negative. light,” he stopped talking, expecting me to be grateful.
“And leaving me in the middle during our second session made me feel like I was okay to get fucked even when I had a boyfriend. It was our first time, Nash, and I know we couldn’t be together, but if I wanted you to stop, I would have told you. But thank you for stopping, at least after I realized you had been dating Daphne while keeping her a secret–” I couldn’t finish my words because our car slowed down due to many warrior cars and an ambulance parked on the road.
“Is this where it happened?” I was shocked that it happened so close that we heard screams from the building.
“No! The monster dragged her body here after killing her,” he said, making my body jump a little. Fear gripped me when I remembered the screams from the other night. Could it also be the monster?
“Who is she–” as I asked that question, Nash quickly drove the car to stop my vision.

“She’s in a bad state. You’ll have nightmares,” that was enough response to know the monster had given her a painful death.
“What’s going to happen next? I mean, Daphne will be coming home again to threaten me, and you will act like Cain and Ryker, who are clueless?” I asked, and he adjusted the mirror again.
I could tell he was shocked at how quickly I changed the subject from the monster back to Daphne.
“Daphne won’t come home, so don’t worry,” he comforted me. However, I didn’t believe him anymore. I knew once I got home, I would feel this betrayal even harder. Why were they so eager to date the girls who hated me?
When our mansion arrived, I stepped out and found Ryker and Cain getting out of their cars. They had arrived only a few minutes before us, but Lord Atwood was home earlier than all of us,
As we all stepped into the mansion, we found Lord Atwood pacing from one corner of the living room to the other, his hands tied behind
his back.
“Dad!” Nash called out to him, and his pacing stopped. He turned to his son and looked him in the eye.
“Where the fuck were you when the whistler broke out and ran away?” The anger in his eyes and the question itself showed he was questioning Nash’s capability.
“Dad, I had to come to the building and took care of the entrance,” Nash tried to explain, but Lord Atwood raised his hand to silence him.
“I don’t want to hear that excuse. The entrance had been secured. You were supposed to leave way earlier, but you didn’t. Where were you?”
