I get to the club and sit with my dad. I know this all ends, I need to find a way out of it without anyone knowing the truth. An hour passes as he talks to me and Jasper, and he looks happy to have me home. I know I will destroy that, as soon as I say I’m leaving, his happiness will be gone. 

“I’m going, got a friend coming.” Jasper stands and my dad laughs rolling his eyes. 

“Another?” 

“What can I say, I like my women. I’ll be going straight to business after, so see you in the morning.” Jasper walks off and I laugh. 

“He’s weird.” I look at my dad and he nods. 

“He’s complicated, not weird. That’s what happens to a man when he’s been burned too many times by love.” I look up at my dad confused. 

“Love? You’re telling me he loved someone?” We both laugh and he 

nods. 

“Not my place to say princess. Your uncle Jasper has not ever had the best luck with women and has been burned too many times, so I don’t blame him for keeping everything casual.” 

I nod, wondering what Jaspers history is. I didn’t know he had a history, I just assumed he loved fucking random women. 

“I can’t ever remember him with just one woman,” I speak and look at

my dad. “Must have been before my time Daddy.” 

He nods and laughs. “You would have been young the last time he had a relationship princess. About six, I think. People see him as a whore, I see a man who had his heart ripped out, used, and is scared of love.” 

I take in his words, and I know I want to know more about this, but my dad won’t tell me and if I ask, he is likely to ask why. I sit with him. and Diesel for a while, my dad leaving to meet someone, and I look at Diesel. 

“What’s Jasper’s story, Uncle Diesel?” 

He looks at me confused. 

“He uses women, right? I’ve noticed it, constantly switching his women but never have I seen him with a woman really.” 

“Leave your uncle Jasper alone princess. He’s not a bad man.” So he does know. 

“If you say so, but to me he’s just like James.” He’s not, but maybe this will make him speak? 

“No, he isn’t!” He looks at me shocked. “Jasper was married at nineteen, princess, by the age of twenty–three he found out she was having an affair. Had been since before they got married, she was there. for the money, nothing more.” I stare at him. 

“So she took his money?” That’s fucked up. 

“No, he had a prenup, that was your dad’s idea, he saw through the woman instantly but Jasper was in love. He still gave her a lot of money though, which was spent on her life with her partner. He was devastated when he found out and applied for the divorce.”

I feel sorry for him. “That’s one woman though. How can he decide all women are the same based on one?” He’s crazy. 

“Because after that, he was in a relationship with another woman. They were engaged, she was pregnant, turned out to be lies, she had been sleeping with his brother.” Shit, I stare at him. “That is just two, they were the longest ones, but he has bad choices when it comes to women. So he isn’t like James. James uses women because it’s fun, Jasper does it to protect himself.” 

“Sorry, I didn’t know.” 

“And you shouldn’t, so don’t tell anyone I told you.” He sighs and looks at me. “Leave Jasper alone, if your dad had heard you compare him to James it would hurt your dad princess, he is protective of Jasper.” Diesel smiles at me and I nod. 

He says that, but my dad would kill him if he knew the truth. That protection my dad gives Jasper won’t go far when he knows the truth. I say goodbye and leave, going back to my parents. I escape to my room. and consider everything. 

Jasper has been hurt too many times, and I don’t want to be the next one to hurt him, so I will walk. I will call this all off, that way my dad won’t ever know. I can’t have him lose my dad as well, not after everything. 

I lie down, considering the way forward, but my only way forward is to leave. If I leave, Joel will go looking for me again, I hope. That then. means he leaves Ivy. If not, once I break things off with Jasper, I can leave and then tell my dad that me and Joel are getting back together. 

Ivy won’t want him then. I will find a way to end all this, without anyone getting hurt. I fall asleep as I consider everything. I won’t let

“Little mouse, little mouse.” I shiver hearing his words, trying to ignore them, and wake up from the nightmare. “Little mouse.” I jump up and see Joel, he’s smiling at me while looking at his phone. 

“What are you doing?” Is he fucking stupid? 

“Watch an entertaining video sugar, deciding which angle looks best for your daddy.” Sitting up, I pull the blanket around me. 

“Leave.” 

He laughs and walks to me. “No, I have something for you little mouse, don’t you want to see?” 

“I’m not playing your sick games, Joel! Leave me alone.” I refuse to let 

him win.. 

“Are you sure? I’ve been watching you sleep, well for about half an hour anyway sugar. While you were sleeping, I was watching something very interesting, are you sure you don’t want to see it?” 

“Fuck you, Joel!” 

“That’s the plan sugar, so, do you want to see? You should really say yes, it is about you after all.” His smile widens, and I shake my head. 

“No.” Standing I face him. “I’m leaving! You will go and leave Ivy alone, if you don’t I will tell the police it was you who raped that woman. I leave, and you leave Ivy the hell alone.” I stand up to him and he laughs.

“Leave Ivy alone, you want me fine, but leave her alone!” 

“So you agree to come with me?” I look around myself. How can I agree? “She is close to Jake, look.” He turns his phone and I stare. “You thought I had a plan? I have more, you agree or I message them and they drag her out of that place and you never see her again.” She’s with Jake and Oliver! 

“You break up with Ivy, today and yes I will come with you. I want you to end things with her before we leave.” If he does, then he won’t come back, and I can run. Ivy won’t be with Jake. His hand pushes me against the wall and he stands against me. 

His mouth kisses my ear. “Deal little mouse, I shall rip her heart out, and get you in return. If I see you hesitating and considering going back on our deal Sugar, mmm, let’s just say it won’t just be me who enjoys what I have on my phone.” I shake and fight back tears. 

“Get it done. Now.” I watch as he steps back as the door opens, Jasper looking in between us confused.
