Wedding 

I wake up feeling tired but ignore it. I get showered and walk down carrying Damiana. 

“Food, the ladies will be here soon to do your hair and makeup. I spoke to your dad, Jasper was asleep at a reasonable time.” She laughs and I nod. “I can see you’re worrying Harley, forget being pregnant, it is your wedding day.” She hugs me and I nod. 

“Thank you, mum.” I smile, it feels strange calling her mum but I am trying. 

“You don’t need to. Have you heard from Ivy or Dawn?” Her words cause me to shake my head. 

“No, but I didn’t expect to get a response anyway.” I do miss them, despite how much we argued. I find myself laughing as I get my makeup and hair done, the few friends I have are with us. It still feels strange to be back home with some of my old friends. 

It’s nice though, and a reminder that hiding away wasn’t the best thing, or maybe it was. 

“Dress?” My mum smiles as I hold Damiana. “Get it on I will fasten it, then we all need to leave, you’re running late.” She takes Damiana. from me and I go upstairs, getting the dress and shoes on I walk back down. My mum fastens the dress and I watch them leave. 

Five minutes later my phone rings, answering it I say hello. 

“Princess, your car will be there before me. Don’t worry, I will be outside the club waiting, I had something to sort, and it took longer

than expected so don’t wait for me. Get in the car now. I will be at the club in five minutes.” I don’t get to respond before he hangs up. 

Walking out I go to the car, this feels weird, my dad should be here. I shake the thoughts from my head as I get in the car, the man smiles at me. Now I feel anxious, I watch as the car stops and I wait watching as it doesn’t start again. 

“Please tell me you’re having a five–minute break.” I watch as he shakes his head. 

“Sorry, I will see if I can fix it.” He gets out and I sit waiting, five minutes later I quit and get out, walking around I look at him. 

“Well?” I’m still ten minutes away. 

“I’m not sure, I will call for a replacement car, but it could be over half an hour.” Is he joking? 

“I could walk in that time! Just move.” I push him out of the way and look, his eyes widening. 

“Your dress.” 

“Will be fine, I won’t touch if less I really have to. If I notice anything I can point it out to you!” Why is everything going wrong? He stands shocked as I look around the engine, I might be female but I’m not dumb. 

“Look, your hands are covered in grease, can I just get a replacement ordered?” 

“Harl?” I look up at the car that’s stopped. James smirks at me. “You just can’t go a day without getting your hands dirty can you?” He gets out and walks to me.

“Fuck off James, it’s my wedding, this asshole broke down, my phone is at home and I am not in the mood.” I go to wipe my face and his hands stop mine. 

“Don’t. Stop panicking, I will take you, and I don’t know stop at a shop to buy wipes or something for your hands. He moves and opens the door. 

“My dad will kill you, James.” 

“And I still think it’s worth it, come on Daddy’s princess, get in.” 

“Fine, but James, no smart comments.” Getting in I sit, and he looks back at me. 

“Don’t touch your fucking dress, your dad will kill me then.” We both laugh, and he isn’t wrong, I shouldn’t touch my dress. So I hold my hands up. 

“We’re out of time James, just take me there, I will wash them at the club.” Fuck trying to find somewhere to clean them. He nods and smiles. 

“I heard you know.” I look up at him confused. “You and Jasper, I thought I had a death wish but you two took it to a whole new level. I’ m surprised your dad left you both alive.” 

“He’s worth it.” My words are quiet and he laughs. 

“Where is Harley? Because no way in hell would she marry someone, guess it shows you do love him.”
