Chapter 82
Vivian realized she made a mistake right after she spoke. Asking such nosy questions. would definitely upset DarrCH.
She quietly lifted her eyes to look at him. Sure enough, she met his cold. gaze.
Vivian bit her lip. Darren never liked her rying into his privacy. He just gave a faint smile without saying anything.
Natalie didn’t answer either. She just looked at Vivian with her clear eyes, as if she could see right through Vivian’s little secrets.
The atmosphere was incredibly awkward.
Vivian felt uneasy. Just as she was about to smile to reduce the tension, Henry’s voice sounded. “Is Natalie here?” he asked cheerfully, his footsteps drawing closer. “Darren said yesterday he’d invite you over. I’ve been looking forward to seeing you since early this morning. I saw Darren’s car from upstairs and figured you were coming, so I came down to see you.”
Natalie tilted her head and looked at Vivian confidently. “Well, Grandpa Henry invited me. And Mr. Luther is my junior.”
Darren glanced at her sideways and asked coldly, “Are you taking advantage of that too?”
Natalie spread her hands and said, “You’re a fool if you don’t seize the opportunity when you can.
Darren let out a dry laugh.
Natalie responded to Henry as she walked inside.
Vivian listened to their continuous conversation, feeling uneasy. She quietly stepped forward to greet Darren. “Hey Darren, today…
“Why did you come over today?” Darren withdrew his gaze, frowning as he changed his shoes.
He didn’t expect Vivian to be here when he brought Natalie home. This made him feel more irritable. Subconsciously, he started to tug at his tie.
When his hand touched his collar, he realized he wasn’t wearing a tie. He paused, then mbuttoned his shirt and asked, “Why didn’t you call me before coming over?”
Vivian remembered the tie Natalie had taken in that vide

Chapter 92
Vivian quickly smiled and said, I came over since I had some free time because I hadn’t seen Grandpa Henry in a while. I intended to take you by surprise.”
“Don’t spring these kinds of surprises on us next time, Darren said flatly, giving her a cold glance before heading upstairs.
Vivian watched Darren walk away, and her face turned grim.
If she hadn’t seen that video of Darren and Natalie online, she wouldn’t have known. they were on a date today.
Although everyone guessed the masked man was Jeremy, she recognized that it was Darren the moment she saw the figure in the video.
Nobody knew how restless she felt at that moment.
Vivian thought, Natalie and Darren went to places only couples go behind my back. Are they getting back together?
No. No way. Darren can only be mine. It took me five years to get this far, and now I’m about to marry Darren and become the new Mrs. Luther. I can’t let anything go wrong now. That’s why I hurried over here!
The wedding kept getting postponed, mainly because Henry didn’t approve of getting married. Vivian was here today to win his favor.
Vivian thought about her goal, took a deep breath, composed herself, and walked into the living room. She sweetly greeted Henry.
However, Henry didn’t respond to her. She wasn’t upset, maintaining her smile. She looked at Natalie and said, “Ms. Xavier, don’t be so reserved. Grandpa and Darren are both very easygoing. Make yourself at home.”
Natalie raised an eyebrow, about to speak, when Henry interrupted, “This is Natalie’s home. Does she need you to remind her? You should keep your mouth shut as a visitor. Don’t be noisy.”
Vivian’s smile instantly froze. She opened her mouth to explain, but the two of them. were chatting away, not giving her a single glance. She felt a lump in her chest and turned to go
to look for Darren.
Vivian quickly a
Darren’s room. She knocked lightly on the door but there was no answer. The door was slightly open, so she pushed it and went in. She could hear the sound of running water from insid

bathroom glass. Darren was showering. Vivian’s face instantly turned red.
Instinctively feeling she came at the wrong time, she started tiptoeing out. But after just a couple of steps, she stopped abruptly. Why should she leave? Wasn’t this a perfect opportunity?
If she could seize this moment to enter the bathroom and offer herself, maybe she and Darren could take their relationship to the next level. Their relationship had reached a standstill because they hadn’t had sex yet. Would she have to watch Darren and Natalie reunite if she didn’t take the initiative right away?
A hint of calculation flashed in Vivian’s eves. She returned to the bathroom door. Darren was still showering, seemingly unaware that someone had come in. Vivian took a deep breath to suppress her nervousness and excitement, quietly giving herself a silent pep talk.
Finally, she slowly raised her hand and grabbed the door handle, gently pushing it inward. It didn’t move. Did he lock it? Vivian couldn’t understand. Why would Darren lock the door while showering in his own room?
At that moment, Darren’s alert voice came from inside, “Who’s there?”
Immediately, the running water stopped sounding. Vivian stood rooted to the spot. It was too late to leave now. In a soft and delicate voice, she answered truthfully, “Darren,
it’s me.”
Darren didn’t respond. After about two minutes, she heard slightly rustling sounds inside.
Just by listening, Vivian could imagine what he was doing, and she couldn’t help but flush with embarrassment.
As she was lost in her thoughts, the bathroom door opened. She quickly looked up.
Darren walked out. He had only a towel wrapped around his waist. He was tall and strong, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Water droplets ran down his well- defined abs and disappeared under the towel. Vivian licked her lips.
Darren didn’t look at her. He walked past her and sat down on a chair.
His hair was still dripping wet, making his deep-set eyes look even darker.
He lit a cigarette, biting it sideways as he roughly dried his hair and exhaled a mouthful
of smoke. “Come here.”
Vivian took small steps toward him like she was under a spell.

Just as she was about to sit down. Darren sneered, “Did I tell you to sit down?”
She paused with a confused look. “Darren…”
“You’ve been getting more and more unruly.” Darren finished drying his hair and tossed the towel aside. His long fingers picked up the cigarette he was biting and casually flicked the ash to the ground.
Vivian didn’t say anything.
“How long have you been with me?” Darren asked.
Vivian whispered, “Almost five years.
“Looks like you remember.” He lazily leaned back in his chair with a cigarette in one hand and the other hand resting on his crossed leg. “Do you still remember the promise we made back then?”
Vivian’s face instantly went pale. “I do.”
“Tell me about it.” Darren chuckled.
